Frequently Asked Questions

The Rotovac has a carpet pile height adjustment wheel which allows it to work on all installed over pad carpet, and most commercial glue downs.

It helps keep our costs down: With our room rates our clients can figure out their own pricing, and it is very easy to give you a quote over the phone, which means we don't have to build "in person quotes" into our price which helps keep the cost down.
It also helps customers who do not know their square footage to accurately get a quote over the phone.
The effort is almost the same regardless of whether there is furniture or not, because all of the dirt in the room is concentrated in areas that are not covered.
Imagine a bedroom: No dirt gets tracked under the bed, no drinks get spilled under the bed, so the only thing that should be under the bed is a light coating of dust that is easily vacuumed off. That means the majority of my work is concentrated in the exposed areas. If the room was vacant the areas that were covered with furniture really do not require much effort - all the effort is required in the areas that were exposed to traffic and spills.

The Rotovac on average leaves the carpet about 20 x drier when compared to a manual scrub wand under similar conditions.  Typical drying time is 24 hours as opposed to 2-3 days with many other companies.  Keep in mind we are not a dry cleaning company.  We use hot water extraction (steam cleaning) to clean your carpet.  This is the only recommended method by carpet manufactures.  Dry cleaning does not get the dirt deep down and also leaves a residue that causes your carpet to get dirty faster after cleaning.   We try to leave our customers with their carpet as dry as possible without compromising the integrity of our work.

There are many reasons to have your carpet and upholstery cleaned:
A chief reason is Health- Carpeting and fabrics not cleaned and properly maintained can potentially cause a variety of health problems inside the home or work place.
Another big reason is the life of your carpet can be greatly extended by simple routine professional cleaning.
Of course the obvious reason of Appearance- regular cleanings help maintain the original look and luster of your carpet.

The EPA currently has issued no guidelines on the recommended cleaning frequency for upholstery. Until such a guideline has been issued, our company recommends that you have your upholstery cleaned every other time your carpet is cleaned. Example: if your carpets get cleaned every six months, your upholstery should be cleaned once a year.

Yes, vacuuming is essential to the longevity of your carpet. You should vacuum your carpet as often as possible.

Let me start by defining the difference between a spot and a stain: a spot is any foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.) that is removable by standard cleaning methods.(The foreign material is on or around the carpet fiber) A stain is foreign material (soil, liquid, etc.) on carpet that is not usually removable by standard cleaning methods. (The foreign material has penetrated ‘soaked into’ fiber and has changed or damaged the fiber itself) Some stains may be very difficult or impossible to remove.  We will try to remove as many as we can.  Severely time consuming stains can incur an extra charge, but we will not charge any extra money without first consulting you and gaining your permission to do extra work.  It is kind of like laundry.  Putting your clothes in the washing machine is much the same as cleaning the carpet.  If it won’t come out of your clothes, we might not be able to take it out of your carpet.  However we pride ourselves on the ability to restore your carpet to like new condition.  Typically we can get out 95% – 98% of stains.

No, actually dirt acts as an abrasive like sand paper when trapped in your carpet or fabrics, causing damage and premature wear, and should be removed.

Yes, our process leaves your carpet fresh, clean, residue free and soft to the touch.

Yes, most carpet manufacturers recommend that you reapply protector after professional cleaning to restore the original stain resistance. Some manufacturers even require it as part of the warranty on the carpet. As well our protection comes with a standard warranty against stains as well.

With the cost of replacing carpet being as expensive as it is today, it is always best to try having the carpet professionally cleaned first. It is far less costly and may make a world of difference.

Carpet actually acts like a ‘filter’ trapping pollutants which are then removed by professional carpet cleaning. As long as a regular cleaning schedule is maintained, carpet provides much better indoor air quality than hardwood.
